About Nerd Immersion

Hi, I’m Ted Sikora.

I’m the creator behind Nerd Immersion, a longtime home for Dungeons & Dragons news, reviews, deep dives, tabletop gaming, and whatever else catches my nerdy attention.

What began as a place to talk about the games and hobbies I loved has grown into a community, a career, and an opportunity to work with some incredible people throughout the tabletop gaming industry.

At the center of all of it is something pretty simple:

I really like games, and I really like helping other people enjoy them.

More Than a YouTube Channel

Nerd Immersion is probably best known for its YouTube presence, where I’ve spent years covering Dungeons & Dragons releases, rules, books, products, news, character options, and the seemingly endless collection of strange things that happen in the tabletop gaming world.

Over the years, that has expanded into product reviews, sponsored content, interviews, convention appearances, live-play games, podcasts, short-form content, crowdfunding coverage, and collaborations with creators and companies throughout the gaming community.

I’ve always tried to approach that work from the same perspective I had when I started:

Would I find this useful, interesting, or fun if I were watching it?

That philosophy still drives Nerd Immersion today.

At the Table

Long before D&D became part of my professional life, it was something I loved doing with friends.

These days, I’m still behind the Dungeon Master screen regularly, running everything from long-running campaigns to convention games, live-play sessions, family adventures, and one-shots.

I love introducing new players to tabletop RPGs just as much as I enjoy running games for experienced players who already know exactly what kind of trouble they want to get into.

That’s why I now offer professional Dungeon Master services through Nerd Immersion for private groups, families, parties, events, and organizations throughout North Carolina and beyond.

Whether you’ve been playing D&D for thirty years or have never rolled a d20 before, the goal is the same:

Give everyone at the table a story they’ll still be talking about afterward.

Working With Nerd Immersion

Nerd Immersion has also given me the opportunity to work with publishers, game designers, Kickstarter creators, manufacturers, conventions, and brands looking to reach an engaged tabletop gaming audience.

I regularly work on:

  • Sponsored and integrated video content
  • Dedicated product and crowdfunding coverage
  • Reviews and demonstrations
  • Short-form social content
  • Convention and event appearances
  • Live-play games
  • Interviews and guest appearances
  • Professional Dungeon Master experiences

I’m always interested in hearing about interesting projects, especially when the people behind them are genuinely excited about what they’re making.

Outside the Studio

I’m based in North Carolina, where I live with my wife, our two boys, and our dogs.

When I’m not making videos or running games, there’s a good chance I’m working on some overly ambitious house project, painting miniatures, designing something for a campaign, opening Magic cards, printing something I absolutely did not need on a 3D printer, or finding another excuse to turn part of my house into a gaming space.

Tabletop gaming is a big part of my life, but the thing I value most about it is what happens around the game itself: the friendships, stories, ridiculous moments, and communities that form because a group of people decided to sit down together and play.

That’s ultimately what Nerd Immersion is about.
